Will the full version of the game  be released  hete as well as Steam or just on Stream?

(+1)

Not sure yet if it will release on itch or just Steam!

(+1)

i would buy it full price on both platforms (i enjoy having drm-free versions of games when they’re available, but also like steam for ease of use/keeping the game collection together) so please consider it

this is the same music as roguejack

An overall pleasant experience. I never played Blackjack but the rules were quick to get the hang of, and it shows a lot of promise. The graphics are appropriate.
I do agree with a few comments, in that having a small hand at all times other than the aces up your sleeve or trump cards could really make the game less frustrating, as even with an optimised deck, a single bad shuffle can leave you to be mercilessly pummeled. Alternatively, the ability to reshuffle one's deck (with or without the discard pile) in a pinch more often, without having to rely on a specific card and instead using advantage or chips, would be quite nice. The possibility to remove cards is nice, but I am unsure it really does much with that frequency. The multiple "cards that are not cards" (i.e. SIM card, memory card, business card etc.) is a very creative idea and I like the humour in all of this.

Final note, do you intend to release this through itch.io as well ? I am asking because my computer runs an obsolete OS for which Steam support was cut off, thus I can no longer use the app. In any case, good luck and strength to you on completing this delightful indie !

he locked so many cards so this happened. this feels unfair, has this happened to anyone else

I had 3 cards locked once. The encounter might need balancing, though it could also be meant to be that way : an opponent who starts slow but gets more and more powerful in the endgame, requiring you to play fast and aggressively to defeat him quickly, lest he becomes unbeatable. The fact that your run can be ended because you built too slow a deck befits the game's roguelite style.

Yes, this happens... If you're lucky he'll draw the key card again and be forced to unlock one of your cards.

(I also don't understand why you would draw if you already had a 9 and 10 locked in)

i keep doing this. i keep hitting "hit" by accident

good

Great game! I want to warn you that I got locked into a 20 minute game with the poker player because we both kept playing the "Ace up your sleeve" card, which caused us to gain a large number of aces. Because we both had so many aces, it was nearly impossible to bust, which made us only able to do tiny amounts of damage. Maybe you could cap the amount of aces allowed in a deck or make the "Ace up your sleeve" aces burn after a while.

I love this game it made me forgotten what I did in 2000.

(+1)

what... did you do in 2000?

(+1)

A little prank on a family 😉😉😉.

I tripled my dis-card via Coin Flip event with Temperance and a Get Well card in my deck. I also have a cue card, transit card, and some negative cards thanks to choosing diamonds and lucky shops.

So ... Temperance apparently caps at 1998 chips, but I have now farmed over 100,000 chips before the end of the Lounge and maxed out a birthday card from scratch in a single battle.

Love the game, try diamonds if y'all haven't already

(1 edit)

huh, for me the basement is easier to farm

also, I would suggest for the developers more cards/events that add copies of the same cards such as Coin Flip, Memory Card, and Terminate the Tower

Achieved the same thing more cleanly with pure cue cards and Temperance. This time I had credit cards to create negative cards and a Get Out of Jail Free card to nullify damage. I bought the entire casino and created inflation of +45,940,023,478%, which obliterated the global banking system and bankrupted all major exporters on Earth.

New floors will certainly come with some re-balancing.

I really enjoyed this demo!!! I will be looking forward to the full game :).

i never played blackjack before but this was so much fun! didn't get very far though :"))

Show post...

Absolutely loved it, it was a really fun experience.

A good game! loved it, i like the experience! 😁

(+1)

can you make an android/ios version pls ? i got addicted to this game

I am so excited for this to come out fully on Steam!

(+3)

Oh wow, this was awesome!!!! I ended up running all the way up through the end of the demo both ways and using the first two suits. This was a blast and a super cool take on blackjack (which is hilarious cuz I literally just finished a blackjack-based game too, but mine is analog).

Seriously though, this is terrific! Thanks Itch for recommending it, and thank you for making it! I definitely wishlisted it :D

Absolutely loved it, it was a really fun experience.

I have never not gotten a tails from the coin flip...

I can tell that you played Magic just from the half cards following their card text to the letter, meaning that if you lock them in place, they stop being awesome and resetting to 0 and start growing instead, giving you really wonky numbers.

I had fun playing this, but on the second play through without hearts I realized that it probably is a bit too random for me - there's so few hand cards or cards in general where you can make an informed decision, and it is next to impossible it seems to really sculpt a deck like you want it because you'd have to get rid of so many starter cards. Why not go all the way and have me pick a number I want to stand at like the AI has and resolve game play semi automatically?

yes they still are awesome if you wait long enough though

(+2)

I'm addicted to this game, omg

That dang basement witch beat me!!

(+2)

Looking forward to see final version it’s already much better than first version!

Good!

Super cool. Very creative and fun to play. Nice work!

(+1)

great game. the most fun games are ones where i get a card that can burn cards from my own deck. if i don't die, i can build a deck where i can draw my entire deck without going over the limit

Good game. I'll add it to my wish list.

I don't think it's a bug

oh yeah, right... it is mentioned in the devlog around v0.11...

(1 edit)

Great game! One request is a mode where you make your own deck to play against someone with their created deck or against harder enemies

(+4)

you gotta be SO careful with some of these cards. pulled one that locks the opponent's first card in permanently. it was a 21 of spades. lol.

(+1)

Idea: card that heals all damage but costs 3 advantage

scratch that: 5 advantage

nah but if you get the blue chip its really easy to rack up advantage I got over 10 advantage once

old baseball card is too good for this, probably something like on click heal 4 hp on discard burn would be better

fr every time you stand it gives advantage

got stuck on a loop and was at like 36 or smth

(+1)

I would recommend doing more with shields there are good combos with every starter except shields every starter deck works very well with other cards in the game (except for extra damage but extra damage is rather op) except for spades so it would be cool if you did more shield combos

(+4)

Us the full version going to be sold on itch.io?

(1 edit)

I died (laughing, not in the game) when I saw the 4 mana 7/7, also it is hysterical to use it to send the opponent over 21 using it, sabotage is funny

(+1)

When the boss has a 21 of spades, but the 4 mana 7/7 and draw 2 cards save your a** and let you beat the demo

(+2)

I just remembered about this meme right here

I think it could be an insane card to play, either discard a random card or draw a 25 of nothings

(+3)

Just an extra note : XIII has no name. The "death" nickname is just coincidential because of the drawing on said card.

(+1)

this plus luck be a landlord and gambling games are becoming actually good

(+1)

The moon doesn't increase scratch damage

I can't stop playing this demo. I play it at least daily, alternating between going to the basement and the lounge. I wouldn't call myself good at the game, but I just can't get enough of it. You've created something incredible here. I've been playing it for a while, now, and I really love how you've improved everything gradually; the animations, the balance in the costs, changed the progression so we have a choice of where to go, ordered the suits from hardest to easiest, and I haven't seen a single change I dislike.

I have exactly one complaint, and it's that The Moon tarot is... iffy with cards that steal it. It's very balanced when it's under your control, but if an opponent steals it (like the Manager, who's right after the spot where you'd get it), then they get to deal triple damage to you and you can't see your own cards. I'm not sure if this is intended to display the innate treachery of The Moon tarot (if it is, then damn) or if it's just a glitch.

I also have exactly one suggestion: maybe some post-game challenge decks would be fun! An all-arcana deck run, a run where your bust limit is 19, an all-glitch card run, a run with a deck where your only cards are double-backed cards and reverse/business cards, etcetera. I think it would be fun!

Thanks again for this phenomenal demo, I can't wait for the full release.

(+2)

this Moon behavior is completely intentional. I'm not sure whether it is meant to display the innate treachery, though.

Do you know if it's possible to work out what card you just drew by obsessively clicking your library/stock (deck) and noting what's not there anymore?

(+2)

the world is so broken and i love it so much, please please dont nerf him!

(+3)

just incase you needed a favorite tarot card for pure and utter chaos (the world plus 2 memory cards, each producing a memory card and then those memory cards producing the worlds and trap cards, ended the fight doing 3000 damage)

Idea: make  a  card that gives you 20 chips but lose 10 hearts

(+1)

Man this is really cool game. Great stuff mate

That's cool man.  Relaxing and fun to play.  Like it.
