If they stand early you can just keep re-using the Communism card and play your whole deck (I got stopped because I had a mana four seven seven but other than that you can play your whole deck) could probably do INSANE damage if you have that card that deals damage based of of cards drawn at the end

i managed to kick bouncers ass by playing a dis-card to discard his foil 21 of spades after he stood. i used to have beef with that stupid man, so lets see if this will work

Love at first sight, superfan of the card games references and geek humor.
The game suffers from that top-down design though. Let's take the trap card, its just a card you can use in some situations, but it doesn't synergize with anything.
Now let's say that I can get a relic that says "when you deal damage, gain 5 life", I'm happy to fill my deck with trap cards and win the attrition war.
Could be Pokemon-like badges, stamps, pins or whatever that we collect for persistent effects. That way we keep all the cool cards & humor but introduce more builds & synergies.

The world-building is impressive, with plenty of depth in both the characters and environments. The game does a great job of blending strategic decision-making with engaging storytelling, which makes every choice feel impactful.
am i bad at this game or does everyone else die fairly quickly but this was really cool! incredible concept, very easy to get into and even easier to hear yourself saying "god i can't believe he used report card" like that's a normal thing to say
can you please add a hard mode with like 3x hp on enemies? when I get a good run it just kills them way too quickly, I want to be able to do things that take a bit of setup.
he aint gonna add that sadly, the game is already fully released to the creator there is no point in adding stuff for the people who play the demo because the entire game is already out with more content and we have to pay for it
It is so good. Makes you feel like a clever trickster when you hit and win. Funny thing happened when I was willing to take some damage when facing the bouncer with his 21 card. I accidentally hit again, getting a "Four Mana Seven Seven" that made the bouncer go over and I was able to inflict damage onto him.
I found the best way to beat the bouncer is to lock a card on his side (with a number over 2), I did this with a foil Charizard by selling it and putting it in his deck, and since he stands on 17, he will bust EVERY SINGLE TIME.
this is because he only has two 10s and a foil 21 in his deck, ITS SO EASY DOING IT THIS WAY

I myself think the game isn't good. The gameplay just didn't hook me. Just because a game got nominated for GOTY, that doesn't mean it's objectively good.
Astro Bot is a brilliant game in my eyes but I'm not forcing that opinion on anyone. Think what you want

Nice game. I like how the end score causes damage to your opponent, gives a nice spin on hit or stand.

Are you meant to lose to the bouncer? He had a foil 21 and I'm unsure how that was winable.
